Intermediate. Second Degree Reiki (Okuden)
The next workshop in our Japanese Style is the Intermediate level. The second level is a powerful and dynamic class that will significantly enhance your Reiki ability and skills as a practitioner. Included are the precise methods for distant healing as well as many advanced methods for directing healing energy on the physical level.
The course consists of the three traditional attunements, empowering you with the three Second Degree Reiki symbols. Each symbol has numerous applications, whih are explained throughout the class.
Some uses of the symbols include:
- How to activate healing at a distance, including distant healing to ones past, present and even how to affect future outcomes;
- Methods to activate personal, mental and emotional healing;
- Participants also learn how the Reiki symbols activate purification;
- How the Reiki symbols are used for establishing personal boundaries and protection, as well as the removal of obstacles to healing;
- Learn how to activate and enhance the Reiki energy with the symbols.
Participants also learn additional methods, some of which were created and utilised by Dr. Usui.
These include:
- Byosen Reikan-ho – The method for sensing imbalances with your hands. This technique enables a clearing of imbalances which are addressed on the causal level.
- Reiji-ho – The method of allowing Reiki to guide you. This technique enables a merging of your consciousness and the Reiki energy, to accurately go to areas of imbalance.
- Taden Chiryo-ho – The method of de-poisoning the body. This technique is a powerful way to remove lesser energies and toxins from the energy field and body.
- Heso Chiryo-ho – The method of navel healing. This technique heals issue of separation, isolation, lack of connection to one's path, and purifies imbalances.
- Koki-ho – The method for healing with the breath. This technique is a specific way to direct Reiki energy through the breath. It also incorporates the use of Reiki symbols for healing.
- Gyoshi-ho – The method for healing with the eyes. This technique is a specific way to direct Reiki energy through one's eyes. This technique has numerous applications.
- Sei Heki Chiryo-ho – The method for the treatment of habits or negative patterns. This is a method of clearing our negative patterns as well as manifesting what we desire in our lives and the lives of others.
- Okuden Reiki Undo – A breathing technique with symbols and movement to awaken the bodies energy channels. This technique enables one to directly experience the power of the Reiki symbols.
- Okuden Shuchu Reiki – The traditional method of group treatment or concentrated Reiki, incorporating the use of the Reiki symbols.
- Jiko Joka Healing – A self-cleansing technique which incorporates the use of Sound and Toning to energetically open the Nadis, Meridians and Chakras.
- Usui’s Reiki Massage techniques. These include:
- Uchi-te Chiryo-ho- Patting with the hands
- Nade-te Chiryo-ho – Stroking with the hands
- Oshi-te Chiryo-ho – Pushing with the fingertips
- Enkaku Chiryo-ho – The method of distance healing. This technique enables the practitioner to send Reiki to anyone, anywhere, anytime. It also has numerous applications for healing situations, healing relationships and enabling the practitioner to clear past issues effecting the present.
The Intermediate class also includes 5 mudras (hand gestures) which affect the way Reiki healing is directed. These mudras act in a similar way to the Okuden symbols, giving the practitioner access to greater amounts of healing energy.
The Five Mudras which are taught enable the following:
- Activating the Reiki energy
- Balancing and stabilising the energy field
- Creating a sub-conscious connection with the client
- Purifying energy
- Averting lesser energy
The pre-requisite of attending the Second Degree workshop is the completion of our Beginners Reiki workshop.
Duration: Weekend: two days – 9:30am to 4:30pm. On the Saturday of the class arrival time is 9:15am (15 minutes before start time) This is in order to complete your registration, settle the balance of your tuition fees and settle into the class environment.
Bring: a note pad and pen; a water bottle; an open heart and mind; a sense of humour; a photograph of someone you know (for Distance Healing), and a Teddy Bear (Approximate Size: 30cm.)
Wear: Comfortable clothing. In summer, dress light. In winter, warm socks and a light shawl or sweater is recommended.
Breaks: There will be a 15 minute morning tea break (around 11am) where morning tea will be supplied by us.
Lunch is for 1 hour (around 1pm-2pm). Alternatively, you may choose to bring your own lunch each day. Afternoon tea break is generally a shorter break than the morning break (10 minutes) and will be held around 3:30pm.
Preparations: The workshop is an opportunity to go deep. It is therefore recommended to keep the night prior (Friday), the night during (Saturday) and night concluding (Sunday) quiet and relaxing. Try not to plan big parties but instead use the time to relax, nurture yourself and go within. It is also recommended that you do not drink Alcohol ( 1 standard drink is OK) nor take any recreational drugs as this will not support the Reiki Attunements and the process underway. We do recommend you drink lots of water, get a good night's sleep and enjoy yourself.

Accreditation: 30 hours Clinical Practice/Assessment.
Attendance Certificate: All Okuden participants receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the workshop. This Certificate states that you have attended the Okuden workshop, received the necessary Reiki Attunements and have received IIRT approved instruction.
Completion Certificate: Having completed an Okuden workshop, a Completion Certificate is available for those students who wish to further their training into a recognised qualification. In order to achieve this, each participant must complete 30 hours of Reiki Treatments. These hours can be completed by the student at our Reiki Clinics, or at home on family and friends. Each time a session is completed, the practitioner records this on the IIRT assessment sheet and obtains the clients signature and comments.
Once a total of 30 hours has been tallied, these are submitted to the IIRT Director for assessment. A Completion Certificate is then issued, granting the qualification of an IIRT approved and Certified Second Degree Reiki Practitioner.
Training Fees: The Training fee for the Okuden level is $485*, inc GST. Each seminar requires a non-refundable $100 deposit to secure your place. Deposits are required by each participant 7 days prior to the commencement of the Seminar. All deposits are non-refundable and are non-transferable.
