Reiki at Mission Australia
Mission Australia has kindly opened its heart and doors to assist troubled youth (12-18yrs) in drug respite and withdrawal through the holistic approach.

The integrated Drug and Alcohol Youth Service is a partnership between Mission Australia and Next Step that provides individuals and their families with improved access to a comprehensive range of alcohol and other drug services.
One of the services we provide is withdrawal and respite, which offers young persons, aged 12 to 21 years who are experiencing problems with their substance use short term accommodation and support in a residential facility to assist in the withdrawal process.

For the past five years, Reiki has been provided to the young persons in the withdrawal and respite facility.  Due to long-term volunteers recently moving on, we are currently in the process of recruiting new volunteers trained in Reiki to continue with this service.  The Reiki service currently runs on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9pm.  We are looking for practitioners who can offer their time to work on either of these evenings on most probably a fortnightly or monthly basis.

Many are amazed at how relaxed they feel and encourage newcomers to "have a go, it's awesome".
I guess that says it all. As the year progresses, more complimentary therapies will be introduced and trialed, including flower essences, yoga and meditation.
