The Attunements
The attunements or initiations of traditional Reiki are an integral and essential part of the Reiki System. This is because the attunements are what makes the connection to the Reiki energy possible.

The process of initiation into Reiki is an exact science or, if you like, a formula. This is why it is essential, in order to gain a complete and pure connection with the Reiki energy, to receive the correct empowerment from a qualified Reiki teacher.

Reiki is an oral transmission from teacher to student, thus one cannot simply read a book on Reiki (or this website for that matter) and as a result, 'have' Reiki. It is not enough to have an intellectual understanding of how it works to achieve lasting results. We need the empowerment from someone who knows how.

The foundation for achieving positive results in Reiki, lies in the Reiki attunements. At the beginners’ level, there are four attunements. These attunements open the channel within the individuals energy system to the Reiki frequency. Once this alignment is made, the person alawys has this connection, which can never be lost.

At the International Institute for Reiki Training, we offer some of the most up to date and authentic training in Reiki. Classes are held on a regular basis and are facilitated by professionally trained Reiki Instructors.
